Eager Journal is an independent publisher of photography books and zines that present new ideas and question preconceived notions related to travel, art, culture, society and ecology. We commission works by innovative photographers, artists, writers and cultural critics with a captivating point of view of the world today.
Eager Journal seeks ideas by harbingers of thought. In a world flooded with content that is designed to suppress or isolate, we are a new channel for contemplation through engaging original photography by artists that we admire and identify with.
Eager Journal was founded by Ross Belfer in 2020 under the notion that art and photography were becoming more of a digital experience as opposed to the physical and human connection to print and paper. Eager Journal is a reflection and curation of Belfer’s philosophies of travel and movement: a non-static universe that is constantly evolving.
From the Founder: “I dreamt of Kyoto. A place I’ve never been, but always yearned to discover. In this life there is bravery, adventure, a distilled essence of time and place. Wandering about bits of the world, we internalize oracular savors and manifest new ideas of how we want to live and breathe. In a brooding world, there is still beauty around us.”
