U.K. BOUNCE BY ISABELLA WRIGHT
United Kingdom - February 2021
By Isabella Wright
After 6 cancelled flights, 7 months of packing up my life in two duffle bags and trying to get by on an expired visa, (thank you COVID), I ended up having the best months of my life, continuously adjusting to whatever the universe rolled at me. My lease was up in Dalston in September, and i moved around the UK carrying everything i owned, trying to pass time until Australia was going to let me home.
To Scotland and London Bridge hostels, Cornwall airbnb’s and staying with friends, I managed to pass by between the multiple London lockdowns and see some of the most beautiful parts the island had to offer. This was a very long mission home, I was released from hotel quarantine two days ago.
I finally hugged my family after almost three years away. As emotional as the last few months have been, I wouldn’t change the uncertain limbo i was living in for anything. These photographs are from the Highlands in Scotland, Cornwall, multiple botanical glasshouses. The Barbican Centre in London. And the house on Kingsland Road me and my dearest friends did lockdown in together through the harsh winter months.
I'm writing this from Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast, Australia. I've been trying to return back here since July 2020.
